S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl

What better way to start my triumphant and dramatic return than by reviewing a game that most of us thought would be coming out at the same time as Duke Nukem Forever… which would be sometime around Nevermber.

I introduce to you, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl.

Finally.

The plight of this game is well known to anybody who would be reading this review, so I won’t go into that and waste time. Simply put, this game was being developed around the same time as the Polio vaccine was. So after this long wait, one would hope that the developers have given us a great game, or else they will be reamed verbally from all corners of the gaming world.

Wednesday Pull List 3/21/07

Okay, so in its second week of existence, the Pull List is already running a little late. Just call me Bryan Hitch. The best stuff that ended up in my box this week included Justice Society of America, X-Factor, and X-Men. But let’s not kid ourselves here, this week was all about Amazing Spider-Man and the first part of “Back in Black.”

Three Quicky PWG Reviews

HG

Well, I let my input get ahead of my output and watched more Pro Wrestling Guerrilla than I could write about. So as a result, enjoy these three mini reviews as I play catchup on what I’ve watched since my last review. Also, I swear I’ll be writing about some other wrestling than PWG again in the near future (hell, I might even have some non-wrestling content coming). But I’ve been watching the PWG lately, so I write about the PWG. And you, you should go sample some of the PWG for yourself. All my praise in these reviews hasn’t convinced you? Check out this music video from their Battle of Los Angeles 2005 tournament. Unless you have an irrational hatred of RATM, that should make you want to see more. Hell, if you have an irrational hatred of RATM, just turn the volume off. Also expect a review of the three 2006 PWG BOLA DVDs from me in the near future

Wednesday Pull List 3/14/07

In the first edition of what I hope to turn into a regular feature here at IAC, I’ll be delving into this week’s bag of goodies from my LCS and discussing the stuff that really grabbed me. This week was pretty light on “blockbuster” type fare, especially as compared to last week, but pretty much everything I picked up was worth a look. Highlights include Incredible Hulk, Irredeemable Ant-Man, and this weird little indie book called New Avengers.

Wolfie Goes to the Movies – Part 2

For the past few years, Hollywood has been so absurdly out of ideas that adapting comics onto the big screen has been one of the few things the industry has been able to bank on. Thus far in 2007, the trend has showed absolutely no signs of slowing. Now I don’t get out of the house much, but as a hopeless fanboy, it is my duty to go plunk down my $7.50 and watch these things. Tonight I’m taking a look at 300, the latest offering from the brain of the King of Hollywood himself, Frank Miller.

Wolfie Goes to the Movies – Part 1

For the past few years, Hollywood has been so absurdly out of ideas that adapting comics onto the big screen has been one of the few things the industry has been able to bank on. Thus far in 2007, the trend has showed absolutely no signs of slowing. Now I don’t get out of the house much, but as a hopeless fanboy, it is my duty to go plunk down my $7.50 and watch these things. First up is Mark Steven Johnson’s adaptation of everybody’s favorite Spirit of Vengeance.
